Nature of position:     Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $36.75 per hour

 

Vacation:                     10 days annually

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Execute minor building repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform general upkeep of common areas, hallways, staircases, and grounds as directed.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Perform daily inspections on general equipment.
  • Orchestrate minor office space changes: desk assembly, white board installations, relocation of small office equipment, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining a comfortable work environment: lighting, workspace adjustments, etc.
  • Oversee recycling and materials/waste removal.
  • Maintain work log and complete required paperwork.
  • Assist in obtaining quotations from tradespersons.
  • Assist in coordinating and overseeing the activities of tradespersons working on site.
  • Assist in managing outside contractors to ensure required work is completed.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • Completion of high school.
  • At least 18 months of experience working as a maintenance person.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform other physically demanding duties.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proactive; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of initiative and ownership, as the successful candidate will be required to oversee all facility maintenance when the facility manager is away.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license; current abstract required.
