Wage: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience)

Finbar’s is looking for a full‑time Line Cook to join our kitchen team in Halifax. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, busy team preparing high‑quality pub food and daily specials.
Main duties include:
Preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes according to our recipes and standards
Preparing ingredients and mise en place for service (washing, chopping, marinating, portioning, etc.)
Ensuring consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation for all menu items
Following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures at all times
Cleaning and maintaining work areas, equipment, and utensils after each shift
Assisting with inventory checks, rotation, and storage of food and supplies
Minimizing food waste and contributing to cost control
Working cooperatively with other kitchen and front‑of‑house staff during busy periods
Training or helping guide junior kitchen helpers as required
Experience: Minimum [1–2] years recent experience as a cook or line cook in a restaurant or similar commercial kitchen
Language: Basic to intermediate English – able to understand orders, read tickets and safety instructions, and communicate with the team
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [20–25] kg as needed
Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain it shortly after hire)
