Home Child Care Provider

• Location: Vancouver, British Columbia Salary: $20.00 per hour
• Hours: 40 hours per week 
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time 
• Start Date: As soon as possible 
• Work Setting: Private residence, caring primarily for a newborn child. 
• Education: Secondary school completion preferred. 
• Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience caring for infants or young children in a private home, daycare, childcare centre or similar environment. 
• Experience caring for newborns and infants is strongly preferred.
• Languages: English 

Duties: 

• Provide attentive care and supervision for a newborn child
• Prepare and sterilize bottles and feeding equipment
• Prepare infant formula and feed the child according to parental instructions
• Change diapers and maintain proper hygiene routines
• Establish and maintain feeding, sleeping and developmental schedules
• Monitor the child’s health, behaviour and developmental progress
• Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
• Plan age-appropriate activities to support cognitive, emotional and social development
• Accompany the child to appointments or activities as required
• Maintain records relating to feeding, sleeping and daily activities
• Perform light housekeeping directly related to the child, including cleaning feeding equipment,
  laundry and maintaining the child’s living areas 

Requirements:

• Experience caring for infants or newborns
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations • First Aid and CPR certification considered an asset
• Reliable, trustworthy and attentive to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
