Metal Roofer Foreman (NOC: 72014) - British Columbia

Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Metal Roofer Foreman (commercial) to fill 2 vacancies in British Columbia Branches including Vancouver (19175 22nd Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia, V3S 3S6) Victoria (Unit 1 6836 Kirkpatrick Cres, Saanichton, British Columbia, V8M 1Z9) and Kelowna (Unit #D -1 8775 Jim Bailey Crescent, Kelowna, BC, V4V 2L7). Other locations across British Columbia will be required based on awarded projects.

Responsibilities include:
• Recommend appropriate building, construction materials and roofing metal products
• Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and regulations
• Supervise with the installation of commercial and Metal Roofing applications (Including Steel Roofing and Wall finishes, Composite Aluminum Wall finishes, Architectural Rain Screen Systems, Composite Aluminum Wall panels and Custom Zinc or Copper applications)
• Oversee assigned crews and ensure that they work in accordance with safety policies
• Ensure all on site personnel comply with project procedures, work and equipment maintenance rules, documents all violations, implements and recommends corrective actions
• Act as company liaison to job superintendents and work crews
• Communicate all aspects of job status (i.e. extras, schedule delays, etc. with superintendents and project manager)
• Follow-up with on-site problems with area superintendents and field operations manager
• Obtain monthly man hour forecast from area supervisor and prepare man hour backlog report
• Provide training to more junior level workers

Qualifications Required:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Roofer in commercial Roofing OR completion of a 2 + year apprenticeship program (journeyman) or equivalent
• Previous experience in Foreman/woman role is preferred
• Completion of secondary school diploma OR equivalent is preferred
• Intermediate English or French skills

Terms of Employment:
• Permanent full time at 30-40 hours a week
• Overtime after 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week. Double time after 12 hours a day
• $44.00 - $50.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
• Benefits include: Extended Medical, Dental, Accidental Death & Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, as well as optional Registered Retirement Savings Plan & Deferred Profit-Sharing Plan with company contribution up to $2500 annually
• 4% vacation pay on all earnings, 4% stat holiday pay on all earnings except for overtime and double time pay
