Baker (Retail Bakery)

Hammy's located at 4502 50 Street, Bay 4, Ponoka, AB T4J 1J5, is seeking an experienced Baker to join our bakery department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of fresh baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and customer service.

Position: Baker (Retail Bakery)

Wage: $21.00 per hour

Hours: 35 to 45 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare dough for breads, rolls, pies, cakes, cookies, muffins, and other baked goods.
• Prepare icings, frostings, fillings, and specialty bakery products.
• Bake mixed doughs and batters according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare custom and special orders for customers.
• Prepare products for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Order and maintain inventory of ingredients, materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Organize and maintain inventory levels.
• Train staff in food preparation, food handling, and food safety procedures.
• Supervise bakery and kitchen staff.
• Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards.
• Assist with sales and merchandising of bakery products.

Requirements
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 3 to less than 5 years of baking experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to handle heavy loads and meet production deadlines.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Work Environment
• Supermarket or bakery department.
• On-site position; remote work is not available.
• Fast-paced retail environment.
• Early morning, morning, and day shifts may be required.
