Responsibilities
Tasks

- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and blueprints
- Install insulation systems for:
- HVAC ductwork and air handling systems
- Chilled water and hydronic piping systems
- Refrigeration lines and low-temperature piping systems
- Apply and install vapour barrier systems to prevent condensation on low-temperature and refrigeration piping
- Measure, cut, and install insulating materials including:
- Fiberglass
- Mineral wool
- Elastomeric insulation systems (e.g., flexible closed-cell systems)
- Fabricate and install removable insulation pads and covers for valves and mechanical equipment
- Install insulation on mechanical room equipment including pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and related systems
- Perform insulation work in ceiling spaces, shafts, and confined mechanical areas
- Coordinate work with HVAC, sheet metal, and plumbing trades on active construction sites
- Ensure insulation systems meet project specifications, energy efficiency requirements, and site standards
regulations.
Additional Requirements
- Experience with refrigeration and condensation-controlled insulation systems
- Strong understanding of vapour barrier application and sealing techniques
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings related to HVAC and piping systems
- Experience working in mechanical rooms and congested construction environments
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to handle physically demanding work and construction materials
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
- Willingness to travel to multiple job sites across the GTA
