Responsibilities
Tasks
- Coordinate, assign, and review the daily work of warehouse clerks, shippers, receivers, and material handlers.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, verify incoming shipments against invoices, and ensure outgoing orders are accurate and on time.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and maintain accurate records using warehouse management systems.
- Establish work schedules, set daily operational goals, and balance workloads to meet shipping deadlines.
- Train new employees in warehouse procedures, equipment operation (like forklifts), and company policies.
- Ensure all team members follow safety regulations (like WHMIS and OHSA) to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
- Resolve day-to-day problems, such as shipping delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, inventory updates, and incident reports to the warehouse manager.
