* Mandarin is highly preferable (the senior only speaks Mandarin).

Education

 * No degree, certificate or diploma

 * Must complete formal training in home care or related field

Experience

 *  At least 1 year of independent in-home caregiving experience

*  Must have experience caring for a senior female with medical needs, including cancer treatment support

Work site environment

 * Non-smoking

Work setting

Tasks

 * Administer bedside and personal care

* Administer medications

* Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene

* Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk

* Launder clothing and household linens

* Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties

* Plan therapeutic diets and menus

* Provide companionship

* Provide personal care

* Shop for food and household supplies

* Prepare and serve nutritious meals

* Cook

* Accompany senior to appointments and social outings

Credentials

* Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate

* CPR and First Aid Certificates
