Title of position: Personal support worker – Marie A.

 

Candidate is to care for a young adult with special needs and an elderly lady with Alzheimer’s; the clients require mobility and transfer assistance as part of their daily care. One client is a young adult with special needs who weighs approximately 190 lbs. The second client is an elderly lady with Alzheimer’s and severe degenerative osteoarthritis in both knees, who weighs approximately 176 lbs and may become immobile. The caregiver must be physically able to safely assist with transfers, positioning, walking, bathing, personal hygiene, and other mobility-related care needs.

 

Duties:

  • Administer bedside and personal care
  • Administer medications
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Assist with mobility issues and in regular exercise, e.g., walk
  • Collect specimens
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Plan therapeutic diets and menus
  • Provide companionship
  • Provide personal care
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals

 

Terms of employment: 30 hours/week, permanent, full-time, mornings, day, evening, with overtime if needed

 

Wages: $21 per hour

Education required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate /Completion of high school.

Work experience required: 1 year to less than 2 years of caregiving experience
