Job Details:

Position: Senior Fashion Designer

Number of vacancies: 1 (one)

Hourly Wage: CAD $43.27

Benefits: Extended Health Care, Vison, Dental, Drug, and Health Spending

Working hours per week: 37.5

Type of offer: Permanent | Full-time

Work Location:1660 North Service road E Unit 110, Oakville, ON L6H 7G3

*Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

 

Job Duties:  

  • Developing several product lines at varying market tiers simultaneously from conception to final production.
  • Starting with Initial Cad/Concepts, supporting portfolio-based creative design
  • Potential travel to US for trend analysis and market research
  • Work with factories to develop final and approved simples which includes:
  1. coordinate samples,
  2. revise prototypes,
  3. approve production samples,
  4. work with overseas manufacturers.
  • Designing new packaging in a functional and suitable way when necessary
  • Review and approve final production of all product
  • Liaise with Major Brand Licensors in regards to:
    1. Concept Approval
    2. Sample Approval
    3. Marketing Initiatives
  • Develop specs
    1. spec sheets,
    2. measurements,
    3. materials instructions,
    4. color specs,
    5. packaging specs,
    6. manufacturing notes.
  • Select appropriate factories/source as needed
  • Cost negotiating to achieve desired price point and margin structure
  • Work with purchasing department regarding the design
  • Assist sales with marketing materials such as line sheets, catalogs, brochures etc.
  • Attend to regular meetings

Experience and specialization

  • Secondary (High) school graduation certificate
  • 5 (five) years or more as design experience in accessories, footwear and jewellery
  • Language: English
  • Art or fashion Retail knowledge and product or technical development experience
  • Design/Brand/Development Management experience
  • Excellent Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop skills for Technical Design
  • Knowledge of packaging
  • Keen eye for designing/developing and modifying designs-
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and initiative skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize,  
  • Excellent time management and project skills,
  • Must work well in a fast paced,
  • Deadline driven environment
  • Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Motivated self-starter and team player
  • Flexible to work overtime when required
