Skill Requirements:
• Education: No formal education required.
• Trade-related training or construction safety certifications considered an asset.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an insulator in commercial and residential
construction environments;
• Ability to independently read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and
project specifications
• Experience installing thermal, acoustic and fire-rated insulation systems;
• Ability to comply with safety standards, insulation materials and installation
procedures;
• Experience working in fast-paced construction environments with strict project
deadlines;
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and insulation equipment;
• Physically capable of lifting materials and working at heights or in confined spaces
when required;
• Written and oral English required.

Job duties:
The Insulator will be responsible for performing insulation installation work on
construction projects, including:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, project specifications and work orders to
determine insulation requirements and installation methods;
• Measure, cut and install various insulating materials according to project
specifications and building code requirements;
• Install thermal, acoustic and fire-resistant insulation materials in walls, ceilings,
floors, attics, crawl spaces and mechanical systems;
• Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, strapping, taping, fastening
and other installation techniques;
• Fit insulation around ducts, piping, electrical systems, steel framing and other
structural obstructions;

• Install vapour barriers, waterproofing materials and protective coverings as
required by project specifications;
• Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with quality standards,
building codes and safety requirements;
• Coordinate with drywall installers, framers and other construction trades to
maintain project timelines and workflow efficiency;
• Operate hand tools, power tools and insulation application equipment safely and
efficiently;
• Maintain a clean and safe worksite in compliance with WorkSafeBC safety
standards and company policies;
• Remove and replace damaged insulation materials during renovation or repair
projects when required.
