S & S SANDHU BLUEBERRY FARM is currently hiring  workers.

Job title: Harvesting Labourer

Positions available: 10

Wage and hours:  $19 per hour, 40 hours per week

Job type: full-time and permanent

Education: Not required

Experience: No experience is required, on the job training will be provided.

Start date: As soon as possible

Language: English. Applicants with basic English skills will be considered as well. Applicants with no knowledge of English will be accepted as long as they are able to communicate in Punjabi or Hindi.

Work Location: Farms located at Ford Detour Rd, Pitt Meadows, BC V3Y 0A6 and

Neaves Road, Pitt Meadows, British Columbia V3Y 0A8.

Work site environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Wet/Damp.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling.

job duties:

• Year around cleaning and maintenance of farm
• Digging, seeding, planting new plants
• Weeding, pruning and thinning
• Load and unload berry containers  
• plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
• detect disease and health problems in crops
• soil preparation, plowing, weeding, sorting, packing of crops
• remove debris and soil while keeping the harvest intact
• examine produce for quality and prepare for market
• contribute to a safe working environment, attend meetings with supervisors
• check water lines
• use farm equipment, fertilize and spray fertilizers
• Perform general farm duties as required
