Job Summary

STONY RIDGE MEDICAL CENTRE is seeking two (2) highly skilled Internal Medicine Specialists (Internists) to join our growing multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidates will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult patients, with a focus on complex medical conditions, chronic disease management, and preventive care. This position offers a collaborative clinical environment with a strong referral base and excellent support for specialist practice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic adult medical conditions, including complex multi-system diseases
  • Provide internal medicine consultations and longitudinal patient care
  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments including detailed history and physical examination
  • Interpret and manage diagnostic investigations (laboratory, imaging, ECG, etc.)
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, COPD, and renal disorders
  • Provide preventive care, screening, and risk factor modification
  • Coordinate care with family physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals and ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with CPSA standards
  • Participate in quality improvement and clinical best practice initiatives

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Completion of Residency in Internal Medicine
  • Certification or eligibility for certification with the
    Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Licensure

  • Eligible for or holding independent licensure with the
    College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta

 

Requirements

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic expertise in Internal Medicine
  • Ability to manage complex and multi-morbid patients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
