The tasks will be split between 2 vacancies

 

The Digital Outreach and Promotion Assistant will support the visibility, engagement, and public reach of the Rare Collections educational platform and its community programming. Working under the supervision of the Director, the participant will contribute to both strategic outreach planning and the creation of digital communication materials.

The role combines content production with early-stage marketing exploration, helping identify effective and cost-efficient ways to reach audiences without relying on paid advertising.

Strategic Outreach & Communication Development

  • Support the development of a basic outreach and promotion strategy for online courses, workshops, and educational content.
  • Research and identify relevant audiences, communities, and platforms for organic (non-paid) outreach.
  • Assist in developing messaging approaches tailored to different audiences (students, educators, cultural audiences, general public).
  • Contribute ideas for increasing visibility through partnerships, community networks, and cross-platform promotion.

Digital Content Creation & Production

  • Create, edit, and schedule digital content across selected platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other relevant channels).
  • Produce short-form videos, captions, graphics, and visual materials using provided templates and brand guidelines.
  • Edit and prepare digital media assets (clips, reels, educational snippets).
  • Ensure all content aligns with accessibility standards (captions, alt text, readability).

Community Engagement & Organic Growth

  • Assist in identifying and engaging with relevant online and local communities, cultural groups, and educational networks.
  • Support the dissemination of announcements, workshops, and educational materials through organic outreach channels.
  • Respond to online inquiries and comments in a professional and community-oriented manner.
  • Track engagement patterns and identify what types of content generate meaningful interaction.

Educational Promotion Support

  • Assist in adapting educational content (workshops, course materials) into accessible promotional formats.
  • Support the development of visual and written materials that introduce the project to new audiences.
  • Help ensure that communications are inclusive, accessible, and suitable for multilingual or diverse audiences.

Administration and Coordination

  • Participate in weekly check-ins with the coordinator to review outreach progress and priorities.
  • Maintain records of outreach activity, engagement metrics, and content performance.
  • Contribute to the development of a simple content calendar and outreach workflow.
  • Attend online meetings and provide updates on communication activities.

Professional Conduct and Learning Objectives

  • Follow organizational guidelines regarding digital ethics, copyright, and respectful communication.
  • Develop foundational skills in digital marketing, audience engagement, content strategy, and communication planning.
  • Gain hands-on experience in building organic outreach systems for a cultural and educational project.

All tasks will be completed remotely, using the participant’s own computer and editing tools, with structured guidance, templates, and regular supervision provided by the organization. The participant will receive mentorship in digital communication strategy, content production, and audience engagement methods.
