Position Overview: Rohno Express Ltd. is seeking Long-Haul Truck Drivers to join our transportation team. The successful candidates will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently over long distances across Canada and the United States. The role involves coordinating and executing day-to-day operational activities related to freight movement, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining compliance with transportation safety regulations, and supporting overall service efficiency. This is a full-time, permanent position suited for professional drivers who are safety-conscious, reliable, and committed to maintaining compliance with transportation regulations.

Position Description

Position: Long-Haul Truck Driver

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: 1519 Colborne St E, Brantford, ON N3T 5L4 and need to drive truck across Canada and the United States

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $36.00 per hour

Overtime and Vacation Pay

Stable & full-time employment

Company sponsored MELT training

Referral Bonus: $1000.00 CAD (for current employees).

Relocation Assistance: $1500.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions)

Job Responsibilities

• Operate and drive a tractor-trailer to transport goods efficiently over long distances.

• Verify the materials being transported, ensuring compliance with weight restrictions and proper loading.

• Conduct vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, and oil, performing pre- and post-trip assessments.

• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical condition, reporting accidents, injuries, or issues promptly.

• Maintain records of rest periods, distance travelled, and fuel consumption to meet regulatory requirements.

• Communicate with supervisors, dispatchers, and customers to coordinate routing and deliveries.

• Follow safety rules and regulations to ensure a secure and compliant transportation operation.

• Manage paperwork, including bills of lading, shipments, trip reports, and delivery receipts.

• Navigate routes using GPS systems and maps to ensure timely deliveries and fuel efficiency.

• Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.

• Handle emergencies, such as adverse weather conditions, traffic delays, or breakdowns.

• Comply with transportation regulations, including hours-of-service rules.

• Monitor and report any equipment issues or mechanical problems.

Qualification & Requirements

• Class A driver’s license or equivalent.

• Experience as long-haul truck driver would be an asset.

• Good communication skills in English.

• A clean driving record with no major traffic violations, accidents, or convictions.

• A strong commitment to safety.

• Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle repairs and maintenance is a plus.

• Ability to adapt to changing conditions, weather, and road challenges during long-distance travel.

• Collaborative attitude to work effectively with dispatchers, mechanics, and other team members.
