POSITION

Teacher - Biology (Fall 2026)

 

The college is seeking a full-time or part-time professor to teach the following course within our Science program for the Fall 2026 semester.

 

101-SN1-RE: Cellular Biology

2 hours of theory x 3 sections, 2 hours of labs x 6 sections (18 hours of teaching) and 4 hours of availability per week.

The main objective of Cellular Biology is to explore and analyze the structure and function of cells as the basic units of life. Students will gain an understanding of the life of cells by examining cellular components, cell structure and function, cell division for both somatic cells and gametes, gene regulation with respect to nucleic acid and protein expression, and the principles of inheritance patterns and genetics. Throughout the course laboratory experiments and exercises are designed to give hands on experience and complement the theory component. Activities include cellular microscopy, histochemistry, DNA polymerase chain reaction and electrophoresis, enzyme analysis, and a study of genetic inheritance.

57,484.00$ - 110,711.00$

 

ROLE SUMMARY:

In a general way, the professor's teaching load shall include: preparation of course outline; preparation of classes, labs and fieldwork; teaching classes, labs and fieldwork; adaptation; support and supervision of students; preparation, invigilation and correction of examinations; revision of corrections at the students’ request; participation in pedagogical days organized by the College; participation in departmental meetings and required activities. May also include departmental coordination; program committee coordination; special support and supervision activities; participation in program activities; program development; implementation and evaluation; and institutional development.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete/Adapt a course Outline to explaining the level of effort and evaluation/teaching techniques to be used during the delivery of the course.
  • Adapt existing class materials if required.
  • Adapt existing lab materials if required.
  • Teach class material while maintaining control of classroom.
  • Supervise Labs (No Teaching Assistants (TAs).
  • Support students outside of class.
  • Correct and comment on all lab and exam material returned to students (as required).
  • Adapt pedagogical methods to the students needs.
  • Participate in College Pedagogical Days.
  • Participate in Department coordination meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Biology is required.
  • Several years of teaching experience at the university or college level is preferred.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written is required.
