Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced technical authority to support the evaluation and certification of embedded software and electronic hardware developed by our suppliers. In this role, you will act as a key reviewer, advisor, and compliance expert, ensuring that delivered systems meet both OEM technical expectations and applicable aviation certification standards.
You will be involved throughout the development lifecycle, providing independent assessments, guiding suppliers, and contributing to the continuous evolution of our internal SWEL practices.
What You Will Do
In this senior position, your responsibilities will include:
- Participating in major design reviews with the OEM and suppliers, from early‑stage assessments to critical design milestones.
- Reviewing supplier development and certification plans for embedded software and electronic hardware.
- Analyzing detailed design artifacts for software and programmable electronic components (FPGA, ASIC, PLD).
- Conducting technical and process audits at supplier sites to evaluate compliance and development maturity.
- Contributing to flight safety assessments and participating in safety‑related design reviews.
- Assessing verification results, test evidence, and analysis reports to determine compliance with design and certification requirements.
- Leading the resolution of complex technical issues involving suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Preparing or reviewing certification documentation and technical reports.
- Supporting the evolution of internal methodologies, tools, and roadmaps
- Providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers within the team.
What You Bring
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A university degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of engineering experience, including 10 years in the aerospace sector.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in the development or testing of embedded software or electronic hardware (FPGA, ASIC, PLD).
- Deep knowledge and practical experience with the following standards and guidance materials:
- RTCA DO‑178B/C, DO‑248B/C, DO‑254, DO‑330
- EASA CM‑SWCEH‑001/002
- FAA AC 20‑115D, AC 20‑152A
- FAA Orders 8110.49A and 8110.105A
- Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.
