We value skilled tradespeople, offer competitive wages, steady work, and a team-focused environment where quality craftsmanship matters. ________________________________________ Job Details • Position: Cement Finisher • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time • Hours: 30–44 hours per week • Schedule: Flexible hours with overtime available • Wage: $22.00 to $36.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience and skill level) • Start Date: As soon as possible • Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits including dental and vision care ________________________________________ Work Environment • On-site work only (no remote option) • Outdoor job sites • Dusty and noisy environments Project Types • Commercial and residential construction • Sidewalks, curbs, and flatwork • Multiple job sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Inspect and verify formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement prior to concrete placement • Direct and control concrete placement according to grade and specifications • Operate power vibrators and tools to properly compact concrete • Screed, level, and finish concrete surfaces to required depth and finish • Apply a variety of concrete finishes using hand and power tools • Install embedded items such as anchor bolts, steel plates, and door sills • Apply curing, sealing, waterproofing, and hardening compounds • Repair, restore, damp-proof, and waterproof existing concrete surfaces • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area ________________________________________ Experience & Skills • Experience Required: 2 to less than 3 years as a Cement Finisher • Strong knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and materials Materials & Systems Experience • Colours, sealers, and decorative finishes • Hardeners and epoxy systems • Lightweight concrete • Mastic flooring • Reinforcing membranes and protective coverings ________________________________________ Safety & Requirements • Criminal record check • Valid driver’s licence verification • Drug testing may be required • Steel-toed safety boots required ________________________________________ Physical Requirements • Ability to perform physically demanding work • Comfortable handling heavy loads • Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for long periods • Strong attention to detail and finish quality ________________________________________ Ideal Candidate Traits • Reliable, dependable, and punctual • Detail-oriented with pride in workmanship • Flexible and adaptable to changing job site conditions • Team player with a strong work ethic ________________________________________ Benefits • Dental plan • Vision care benefits
