Job Title: Cook 

Terms of Employment: 30-40 hours per week, full-time, permanent

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

Wage: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (Depending on experience)

Job Duties:

• Prepare ingredients (clean, cut, trim various vegetables, meat and poultry) and cook a variety of sauces, processed foods, Asian soup broths, specialized Asian cuisine, etc.; according to food menu items for packaging for retail and wholesale distribution to retail groceries stores and other Little Saigon locations.
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers to ensure efficient food production.
• Manage and oversee kitchen activities to ensure smooth food production.
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure the food quality is outstanding every time, meeting standardized guidelines.
• Ensure work areas, utensils, and production equipment are in a clean and sanitized state.
• Ensure that food procedures are followed, safe handling of kitchen products and equipment is maintained, and health and safety policies are adhered to.
• May assist in hiring and training kitchen staff.
• Specialize in preparing and cooking Asian cuisine in bulk quantities for packaging for retail and wholesale distribution.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Education: No formal education required

Experience: 2+ years of commercial cooking experience required

****Please Note: Applicants with culinary certificate or cooking diploma will be considered with 1 year or less experience

Language: English
