Community Support Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential assistance to individuals with disabilities. This role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being through personalized care and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping others and possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members. Prior experience in caregiving or special education is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
• Support clients in participating in community activities and social engagements
• Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions
• Use effective communication skills to understand and respond to clients’ needs, including sign language if applicable
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each person's unique requirements
• Promote safety by monitoring clients’ health status and environment
• Collaborate with family members, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure comprehensive support
• Maintain detailed documentation of care provided and any changes in client condition

Experience

• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a caregiving capacity is preferred
• Knowledge of special education practices is a plus
• Proficiency in American Sign Language is highly desirable
• Experience with medication administration and basic healthcare procedures is beneficial
• Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy are essential for success in this role
