Abby Veterinary Hospital & Emergency is looking for One Veterinary Assistant who could join immediately.

Work location: 2388 McCallum Rd suite C Abbotsford, BC V2S 3P4
Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible
Compensation: $23.00 per hour
Work hours: 40 hours/week
Terms: Permanent full-time
Language of work: English
Work Setting: Animal Hospital
Shift: Evening, Night
Job duties and responsibilities
- Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests
- Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
- Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian
- Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian
- Counsel clients on animal health care
- May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties
- Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
- Provide wound and bandage care
Requirements
• Education: Secondary School
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
