CONSTRUCTION MANAGER ON SOUTHERN VANCOUVER ISLAND / VICTORIA / WEST SHORE

Sultan Construction, a busy construction contracting company, is looking to fill a full time Construction Manager role to oversee and manage our full schedule of building projects in the Southern Vancouver Island Region. This role is responsible for managing on-site construction activities, coordinating trades and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills, a commitment to excellence, and proven experience in construction management.

The anticipated salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $68.00–$70.00 per hour (based on experience), with a 40-hour work week. We are a team oriented business and can offer opportunities to grow with the company.

Duties & Responsibilities for Construction Managers (NOC 70010)



• Oversee and drive progress with all on-site construction activities from excavation to final completion.

• Supervise subcontractors, trades, and site staff to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.

• Monitor daily progress and adjust schedules to according to needs of trades on site, resolving conflicts, and delays efficiently.

• Anticipate project milestones and ensure accountability for responsibilities. Review and approve work completed by trades before proceeding to next stages.

• Administer change orders or adjustments, update plans and review against budget.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and submit competitive project bids.

• Manage and negotiate contractual obligations between company and subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders.

• Manage permitting process, ensure compliance with building codes and coordinate inspections.

• Maintain site records, including progress reports, safety documentation, and incident reports.

• Lead and develop programs and initiatives to enhance company performance.

Knowledge & Competencies
• Project controls, scheduling, cost management
• Strong negotiation skills
• Quality assurance / quality control (QA/QC)

Desired Education & Credentials
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field desired; equivalent experience considered.

Experience
Several years of experience in the construction industry with progressive project management responsibilities is required.
