Transportation Supervisor- TRANSPORT ON TIME

Salary: 37.50 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week

Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Work setting: Supervision, Dispatching, Traffic controlling

Tasks

  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the daily activities of truck drivers and transportation staff to ensure efficient delivery operations.
  • Coordinate dispatch operations and assign drivers, vehicles, routes and loads according to operational requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor driver performance, trip progress and compliance with company policies, transportation regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
  • Review driver logbooks, trip sheets, fuel records and inspection reports to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Manage fuel usage by monitoring fuel consumption of trucks and implementing measures to improve fuel efficiency and control costs.
  • Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs of trucks and trailers to ensure fleet safety and reliability.
  • Prepare operational, production and transportation reports and maintain records related to fleet operations, driver activities and maintenance schedules.
  • Resolve work problems and investigate operational issues such as vehicle breakdowns, delivery delays or accidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Train drivers and transportation staff, or arrange for training, on company procedures, safety standards and transportation regulations.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations and transportation laws are followed and recommend personnel actions such as hiring, discipline or performance improvements.
