Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Glaziers (commercial) to fill 10 F/T vacancies In the Hamilton  and surrounding area (900 Arvin Ave, Stoney Creek, Ontario L8E 5Y8, Canada). Other locations across Ontario will be required based on awarded projects.

The position of “Glazier” is a skilled trade role, in which the Glazier works within a team, reporting to the Site Foreman to glass and glazing products in commercial, industrial and institutional structures.

Responsibilities include:

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required

• Measure and mark glass and cut glass using glass cutters or computerized cutter

•  Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of building

• Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in industrial, institutional and commercial buildings

• Providing training to more junior level, less experienced workers

Qualifications Required:

• Minimum 4 years' glazing (commercial) experience OR completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program OR Journeyman/woman certificate OR Journeyman/woman certificate equivalent

• Intermediate English or French skills

• This is a unionized position; if hired, all candidates will be required to become a member (if not already)

• Ability to work and communicate with others

• Ability to instruct apprentices and new workers

• Ability to work at heights

• Ability to learn and obey our extensive company safety policy

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent full time at 30-40 hours a week. Overtime after 8 hours a day. Double time after 10 hours a day and on weekends and holidays. Double pay after 37.5 hours a week

 • $36.75 - $45 per hour, depending on qualifications (starting wage for meeting minimum requirements is $36.75, wage scale increases based on additional experience);

•  Benefits package offered by union;

•  4% vacation pay on all earnings, 6% stat holiday pay on all earnings except for overtime and double time.
