JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Secondary school

Work experience: 3 years or more commercial transportation experience

Wages: $30.00/hour

Job duties and required skills:

➢ Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers

➢ Safely drive newer and fully serviced equipment to transport goods and materials

➢ Follow policies and procedures to ensure safe deliveries at all times

➢ Maintain truck cleanliness inside and out

➢ Load and unload goods

➢ Receive and relay information to central dispatch

➢ Professional in customer service

Certification required

  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
  • Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)
  • Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Basic security clearance
  • Criminal record check
  • Driver’s validity licence check
  • Driving record (abstract)
  • Drug test
  • Medical exam

Experience required

  • Accident or incident reports
  • Bill of lading
  • Driver logbook
  • Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
  • Maintenance and repair reports
  • Trip reports

  • Flatbed
