Tile and Flooring Sales Associate

We are a small, tight knit group in a boutique tile and flooring retail store in Trail, BC. We are looking for a like minded, creative individual with a flair for design, to grow with, and make themselves an integral part of our company. We are an all hands on deck company, so are looking for someone who is willing to dig in when needed, no matter the task.

The job will involve greeting and working with contractors and home owners, tailoring each individual to their specific needs, assisting them with tile and flooring selections. We will provide training in learning about different flooring products and their proper applications. It will also involve processing sales transactions. There will be bending, carrying, and lifting heavy items at times. As well, in downtime there will be general cleaning involved. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to engage with diverse clientele. We are not interested in someone who just needs a job. We need you to be passionate about tile and flooring!

We are looking for someone who:

-has the desire and ability to learn and retain product knowledge

-considers themselves to have good taste, and a flair for design

-wants to further develop their knack for design

-has great communication skills and a positive, can do attitude

-is friendly and energetic

-is able to build a rapport with clients

-can ask relevant questions to help direct customers to the right products

-has retail skills, although it is not necessary as we will train, but is an asset

-keeps a clean and organized sales floor

-can collaborate with team members on marketing initiatives to attract new customers

-has a valid driver’s licence

-has the desire to become a valuable member of the company

Benefit package offered after 3 month probation period.

Permanent - full time position.

$20-$25/hour
