The Assistant Controller will manage the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. They will oversee general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reconciliations, in conjunction with Head Office Finance in analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, improving processes, and providing insights to support sound financial decision-making across the organization.

Position Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position
Compensation: CAD 85,000–95,000 per year
Benefits: Extended health insurance

       Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the activities of the finance and accounting department
  • Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and internal controls
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
  • Monitor cash flow, investment activities, and overall financial performance
  • Provide strategic financial advice to senior management
  • Recruit, supervise, and evaluate finance staff
  • Coordinate internal and external audits


    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 years + of experience in accounting or financial management
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • CPA designation is an asset
