Position Description

                                                                                                           

Position: Glass Installer Glazier

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

No of positions: 1

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various job sites in Lower Mainland (BC) and/or as per company’s contracts

 

Salary and Benefits

 

Salary: $36.60 per hour

Transportation to workplace is available if required.

Referral Bonus: $1000.00 CAD (for current employees).

Relocation Assistance: $1500.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions).

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine appropriate glass type, thickness, frame, installation procedure, and necessary materials.
  • Collaborate with architects or clients to ensure glass installations meet design requirements and aesthetic preferences.
  • Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Utilize measurement tools to accurately mark and cut glass using specialized glass cutters or computerized cutting equipment.
  • Fabricate metal framing systems for glass panel installation.
  • Securely position and affix glass panes to designated frames using clips, points, or moldings to ensure proper installation.
  • Apply tints to glass surfaces and create intricate patterns through methods such as etching, sandblasting, or painting designs.
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors, or glass products on interior and exterior walls, ceilings, or building facades.
  • Assemble opaque and transparent glass panels into frames to construct building exterior walls.
  • Perform repair and maintenance services for residential windows, commercial doors, and other glass-supporting structures. Replace damaged glass or faulty sealants as needed.
  • Select and use appropriate tools, machinery, or equipment for specific tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, dispose of waste materials properly, and adhere to environmental regulations.
  • Comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices to ensure glass installation quality and safety.
  • Prepare cost estimates for customers or clients, detailing the scope and expenses of proposed projects.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Relevant education or at least 3–4 years of relevant work experience in glass installation or similar work.
  • Strong knowledge of glass installation, repair, and replacement techniques.
  • Ability to safely handle glass, tools, and materials in accordance with workplace safety standards.
  • Consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy glass panels.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
  • Detail-oriented and with a good work ethic.
