Canadian Western TCM Clinic is a comprehensive outpatient clinic specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine services. Guided by classical TCM theory, our clinic provides diagnosis and treatment through acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine, and therapeutic massage.

We are now looking for a qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner to join our team.  

 

Position:                                 Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Wage:                                     C$ 28.00 hourly 

Working Hours:                    30-40 hours working / week (to be negotiated)

Vacation Pay:                        4% of gross salary 

Terms of Employment:       Full-time, Permanent

Job Duties

The successful candidate will perform duties consistent with Traditional Chinese Medicine practice, including:

  • Conduct patient consultations and determine diagnoses in accordance with Traditional Chinese Medicine principles
  • Assess symptoms, functional imbalances, and physical conditions to identify appropriate therapeutic approaches
  • Inform patients of recommended treatment methods, including potential risks and expected outcomes
  • Deliver therapeutic services such as acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, moxibustion, acupressure, auricular therapy, and related modalities
  • Apply additional traditional techniques when appropriate, including Tui Na and other manual therapies
  • Prepare and prescribe Chinese herbal remedies in raw or granulated form, as well as related dietary supplements
  • Provide guidance on at-home care and wellness practices consistent with TCM theory
  • Maintain detailed and accurate clinical records for each patient
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and modify care plans as necessary
  • Coordinate with other regulated health professionals when collaborative treatment planning is required

 

 

Requirements:  

  • Completion of a four- to five-year diploma program in Traditional Chinese Medicine or completion of a recognized TCM program from an accredited medical institution abroad.
  • Registration with a regulatory body is required for Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners in British Columbia, which includes successful completion of an approved registration examination.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide patient-centered care in a professional manner.
  • Detail-oriented, patient, and responsible, with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic in a clinical setting.
