BIS Safety Software is a fast-paced, high-growth organization providing leading software for the safety industry. We are expanding our team and are seeking an experienced, full-time Senior ColdFusion Software Developer with strong proven abilities in the areas of programming.

About the Role
 
Are you an experienced software developer focused on enhancing applications using ColdFusion? Do you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting code reviews, and optimizing system performance? Do you have a desire to oversee all stages of software development, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance? Do you have a commitment to continuous learning, coaching and driving innovation?
 
This posting is for a full-time, in-person position based out of our Sherwood Park, Alberta office.

What you'll do:

    • Develop and maintain ColdFusion web applications with high performance and scalability
    • Demonstrate proficiency in front-end technologies such as ReactJS, Angular, jQuery, and Bootstrap
    • Manage data and queries across database management systems
    • Engage in the design, execution, and enhancement of enterprise SaaS applications
    • Build and enhance key modules such as reporting systems, directories, eCommerce components, and content management systems
    • Conduct thorough code reviews, optimize performance, and ensure consistent coding standards
    • Lead and mentor junior developers, supporting them on secure coding, architecture, and query optimization
    • Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, and other developers to design effective solutions and deliver high-quality software
    • Perform robust QA testing and debugging prior to releases and provide post-deployment support

Who you are:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-stack web development
    • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience using Adobe ColdFusion
    • Strong skills with JavaScript, modern front-end frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, Angular, or Vue), HTML, and CSS
    • Hands-on experience with relational database technologies such as MySQL or MariaDB
    • Experience with secure payment integration and familiarity with PCI DSS compliance standards
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
    • Possess strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Experienced leader who enjoys mentoring and supporting junior developers
    • Possess strong English written and oral communication skills
    • Strong communicator, with the ability to identify and communicate technical problems to all team members
    • Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and handle change with ease
    • Are a collaborative leader who works well with both leadership and team members
    • Have a professional and positive attitude with a solution-based approach to challenges

Bonus points if you have:

    • Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment strategies, particularly on AWS, is highly desirable
    • Familiarity with Elasticsearch or other search technologies
    • Experience with version control tools such as Git
$95,000 - $100,000 a year
