DES Curl Spa is Vancouver’s health-focused salon for wavy, curly, and coily textured hair. Founded by Curl Expert & Certified Hair Loss Practitioner Destini Maighan-Manaog, we put scalp and hair wellness first, tailor every service to your hair, lifestyle, and goals, and teach you how to care for your curls at home so you can embrace your natural texture with confidence.

Who this role is for

You are a stylist who loves working with wavy, curly, and coily hair and takes pride in clean sections, thoughtful consultations, and consistent outcomes. You enjoy learning, refining your craft, and recommending products with integrity.

What you will do

1) Client experience and services

• Provide thorough consultations that assess goals, lifestyle, curl patterns, porosity, and scalp health
• Deliver curl focused services such as curly cuts, wash and style, curl definition, silk press, and basic treatments
• Educate clients on at home care and help them build simple routines that support healthy hair
• Recommend retail products confidently and ethically to support results between visits

2) Team and salon standards

• Maintain a clean, safe, and spa level work environment throughout the day
• Follow sanitation and disinfection best practices and salon protocols
• Communicate clearly with the front desk team and support smooth service flow
• Participate in team education, skill building, and service standard training

What we are looking for

1) Must have

• Strong foundation in cutting, styling, and finishing textured hair
• Confident blowdrying and diffusing, plus strong detangling and sectioning habits
• A client first mindset with professional communication and punctuality
• A portfolio of your work, photos or video is perfect
• Ability to work legally in Canada

2) Nice to have

• Experience with curl by curl cutting methods
• Experience with scalp care, treatments, and client education
• Retail confidence and comfort recommending routines
• Interest in content creation or being featured in salon marketing
