Live-In Care Giver - Persons with Disabilities

About the position: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable live-in caregiver to provide continuous, hands-on care for a medically high-needs patient. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring medical conditions, administering or supporting prescribed treatments, and responding promptly to health changes or emergencies. The caregiver will work closely with family members and healthcare professionals to ensure a safe, comfortable, and dignified living environment while supporting the patient’s physical, emotional, and medical needs.

Location: We are seeking a live-in caregiver to join us in our home in Greely, Ontario. 

Salary: $20.35 per hour 

Work Conditions: Between 30 and 40 hours per week. The caregiver will need to remain available in the morning, day and evening. 

Requirements: High school diploma is required. 1 year of live-in caregiving for a high medical needs person is required. 

Responsabilities: 

- Assist with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting;

- Managing medical treatments: Administering prescribed medications, overseeing treatment schedules and managing medical equipement; 

- Monitoring health conditions: Regurlarly identifying any signs or changes in health status as per family instructions;

- Mobility assistance: Helping with transfers from bed and chairs, walking, or using mobility aids;

- Preparing meals: Creating specialized, nutritious meals based on the dietary needs of the patient; 

- Provinding companionship and emotional support: Offering emotional support and keeping track of medical and physio appointments. Assist with day-to-day activities to enhance the quality of life for the patient. Work closely with family members to ensure all of the care plans are correctly followed, and if any medical needs are addressed promptly.
