JOB DESCRIPTION
The Supply Chain Manager at Vanrong Foods Inc. will oversee the company’s global procurement and supply‑chain operations. The manager will develop and implement purchasing policies, negotiate with international vendors, ensure strict quality and safety standards, and optimize cold‑chain logistics to support the timely delivery of our seafood products. The role requires strategic planning, vendor management, budget control and staff supervision in alignment with Vanrong Foods’ mission to deliver premium and innovative processed and frozen seafood to the North American market.

Job Position Title: NOC 10012 – Supply Chain Manager for a leading global seafood distributor

Job duties

The duties of the Supply Chain Manager at Vanrong Foods Inc. will include but are not limited to:

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing activities for a wide portfolio of processed and frozen seafood products to ensure availability, freshness and quality

Develop and implement purchasing and supply‑chain policies and procedures; prepare and control the department budget and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards

Identify and evaluate global vendors of seafood, packaging and logistics services; maintain relationships with suppliers across Canada, Asia, Europe and other fishing regions

Assess cost, quality and reliability of goods and services; conduct market analyses to achieve competitive and flexible pricing options

Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts with domestic and international suppliers, including terms related to quality, delivery timelines and sustainability

Participate in developing product specifications and packaging requirements for value‑added seafood items (prefabricated meals, snacks, hot‑pot ingredients, etc.)

Monitor and optimize cold‑chain logistics in partnership with transportation providers to ensure product integrity and freshness.

Review and process claims against suppliers, manage non‑conformances and implement corrective actions

Recruit, train and supervise purchasing/supply‑chain staff; set performance standards and promote continuous improvement

Collaborate with quality assurance, sales and finance teams to align supply‑chain operations with business goals and customer requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, supply chain management, commerce or economics

3 or more years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply‑chain management
