Wage rate: $37 per hour (35-40 hours per week)

Education:  High School. Red Seal Trade certification for automotive service technicians is required.

Experience: 4-5 years of relevant experience.

Language: English.

Job Duties: 

• Greet customers when they arrive and take a detailed history of vehicle performance or mechanical failure.
• Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
• Diagnose vehicles based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by the customer.
• Provide customers with detailed estimates for repairs and replacements and obtain signature approval prior to commencing work.
• Repair vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair estimate.
• Test drive vehicles after repairs are complete to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist.
• Describe vehicle’s condition to customer and answer any follow-up questions.
• File appropriate documentation on each repair.

Working setting: The candidate should be available to work full-time in the day or evening or on weekends, if required.

Working Conditions: Candidate should be able to lift weight (50lbs).

Other Information: Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada. Position is available and open to Aboriginal persons, youth, new immigrants.
