Responsibilities
Tasks
- Operate commercial trucks safely to transport goods to assigned locations within Ontario and other designated routes
- Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS and route plans while considering traffic and weather conditions
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical or safety issues promptly
- Comply with all provincial and federal transportation regulations, including hours of service and weight limits
- Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery documentation, and bills of lading
- Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, or issues
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of freight to customers.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks such as fuel, oil, fluids, brakes, and tire pressure
- Maintain professionalism and follow safety procedures at all pickup and delivery locations
