Position Description             

Position: Painter                                                                                                                                            

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various locations in Edmonton & as per company’s contract.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $36.00 per hour

Overtime and Vacation Pay

Relocation Assistance: $1500.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions)

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate job requirements by reading instructions and assessing surfaces to determine the type and quantity of materials needed.

• Mix or select pre-mixed paint to obtain desired colors, considering pigment, oil, and additives to ensure consistency and drying.

• Apply paint, wallpaper, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.

• Ensure that scaffolding or ladders are set up and used safely to access areas above ground level.

• Protect unpainted areas using masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective materials.

• Assist clients in choosing color schemes and wall coverings based on their preferences.

• Install wallpaper and fabric wall coverings by accurately measuring, cutting, and adhering them to walls.

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.

• Repair cracks, holes, and other defects on surfaces to ensure a smooth finish.

• Keep a clean and safe working environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cleaned after use.

• Maintain communication with clients to understand their specific needs and expectations.

Job Requirements

• Completion of high school.

• Relevant education or a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Good communication skills.                                                                                                                         

• Ability to work independently under limited supervision.

• Understanding of the principles, methods, and techniques of painting.

• Knowledge of preparation techniques and painting materials, and tools.

• Understanding drawings, plans, and following written and verbal instructions.
