Bookkeeper

Job Duties:

• Prepare & keep a track of all the transactions of a business through journals and ledgers
• Maintain records of Taxes, Payroll, WSNB and obligations and pay within time frame.
• Must tally up payroll taxes, income tax withholding and worker’s compensation figures in the company ledger.
• Check to see that orders match receipts provided by software, to check if there are any errors or omissions. 
• Must reconcile vendor invoices with orders and check that payments for food supplies and services are accurate.
• Must check time cards to ensure that employees are being paid accurately.
• Prepare deposit slips at the close of business each day which involves comparing cash receipts, checks and credit card payments with total sales for the day.
• Must issue a weekly report of sales and expenses with the aid of software and should be checked personally by the bookkeeper.
• Must make report which should note the areas where the restaurant is over budget and should identify any losses of cash.
• Capable in examining operations to update cash controls
• Review financial statements and assist with audits

Skills & Education Required

• Secondary school graduation certificate is required
• 2-3 years of experience in similar role is required
• Proficient in English communication, writing and reading skills
• Good problem-solving and time management skills
• Capable of performing repetitive tasks, highly organized and detail-oriented
• Understands and values hospitality
• Smart and motivated team player
• Well versed with MS Excel, MS Word, Quick Books & Simply Accounting
• Capable of working in fast-paced environment & work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines

Wages & Working Hours

$26.50 hourly for 30 hours per week
