Purchasing Officer

Acadia Frontier Development Ltd is looking for someone with knowledge and expertise in multifamily residential construction to join our team as a Purchasing Officer.

Salary: $35/hour, annual $63700+

Duties include purchasing general and specialized equipment, materials, and subcontractor services for construction projects. Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure the correct equipment, material and subcontractor services are ordered or purchased. Invite tenders, consult with suppliers, and review quotations.

Primary job responsibilities will consist of assisting Project Managers with all aspects of project work, including the following:

• Plan, schedule and forecast procurement activities
• Purchase general and specialized equipment, material, and subcontractor services for construction projects
• Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure the correct equipment, material and subcontractor services are ordered or purchased.
• Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations
• Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts or recommend contract awards
• Attend trade shows to research current product and service information

Other skills required:

• Minimum five years' purchasing experience in the construction industry
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and highly organized
• Ability to work in a high-paced atmosphere
• Commitment to working in a team environment and good team-building abilities
• Able to interpret and effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines
