Location of work:        2015 Main street, Vancouver, BC, V5T 3C2 as well as Saudi Arabia and Egypt for business trips as required

 

Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $90,000 per annum  

 

Vacation:                     14 days

JOB DUTIES

 

This position would report directly to the company president. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Establish objectives for the company and approve policies and programs;
  • Select managers and other executive staff;
  • Co-ordinate the work of regions, divisions or departments
  • Direct the operations of offices in Saudi Arabia and Egypt through the regional managers of those offices;
  • Ensure that managers of regional offices report when required, properly carry out management functions, and ensure high productivity in their offices;
  • Direct the establishment of a company office in the United States and identify a regional manager for that office;
  • Approve marketing campaigns submitted by regional marketing managers;

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • A post-secondary diploma or two years of study towards a degree is required, either (1) in a related field; or (2) in any field, provided that the applicant also has at least three years of experience in business management.
  • Four years of experience working in an imports business or a related business;
  • At least two years of experience in business management;
  • Ability to manage a team, including ability to manage workers in distant offices;
  • Experience with importing retail goods to Canada, including experience with regulations around imports;
  • Familiarity with business practices and culture in the Middle East region, and particularly with Egypt and Saudi Arabia, is an asset;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail.
