At the moment Kosher Experience is looking for an experienced cook (NOC 6322) to join the team, who is just as passionate about food. Our compensation and schedule vary to suit the individual employee, with an hourly rate of $18.00-$35.00 CAD compensation of service, depending on experience. Duties:
- Trains and works with kitchen staff to prepare, cook and present the food/dishes
- Supervises kitchen and staff while working in and around the kitchen
- Responsible for providing food orders, while maintaining inventory
- Maintains kitchen in clean and safe state while working
- Develops, recommends and implements menu improvements
- Present for all catering events
- Review Event Orders and food inventory to ensure production requirements are met
- Check incoming deliveries for quality and quantity
- Daily checks of inventory in fridge/freezer/dry storage
- Quality control of production and meal prep
- Ensure all catering supplies are available for service
- Prepares tasting menu if required for catering events/clients
- Prepare food in compliance with food safe regulations
- Manages scheduling of kitchen staff
- Controls labour and food costing
- Available to work a variety of shifts if required
Skills/Experience:
- Completed secondary education is an asset;
- Written and spoken English;
- 2-3 years of experience is required
