At CEFA (Core Education & Fine Arts), we help children gain the success and confidence they need to go into kindergarten. It’s where they learn how to learn, how to problem solve, and how to approach things. It’s school and life prep, highly developing a child’s intellect and delivering their first start in education, arts and in the humanities. We provide and promote activities which encompass physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of our children by giving them a safe place to play with each other and learn new thing. Currently, we are looking for an Early Childhood Educator-Infant and Toddler to join our team.

Position: Early Childhood Educator – Infant and Toddler

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: As soon as possible

Position available: 1

Hourly Wage: $20.00 - $23.00 (Depends on qualification and work experience)

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Location: 2946 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC, Canada V5N 4C9

Benefits: 4% Vacation Pay and Extended Medical Benefit plus this position is eligible for an additional $2.00 per hour BC government Wage Enhancement Initiative

Duties:

• Develop and follow childcare programs to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children;
• Lead activities by reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to field-trips of interest;
• Plan and maintain healthy and safe environment for children/ Clean and sanitize daily with bleach and water solution;
• Teach children to eat properly, dress and appropriate toilet habits;
• Detect the signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor;
• Evaluate the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members;
• Build a good relationship with employees and community service providers working with children.

Qualification:

• Completion of a two-to four-year college program in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development is required;
• BC Early Childhood Educator certificate, and BC Infant and Toddler Educator certificate are required;
• First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate are required;
• Ability to work in a team and self-motivated;
• A positive, fun-loving attitude;
• A clear criminal reference check and Medical Exam are required;
• Since educator will deal with teachers and parents in English, working knowledge of English ability is required;
• Previous work experience as an Early Childhood Educator or Infant and Toddler Educator would be a good asset, but not a mandatory requirement.
